Mrs. Hattie Schoenborn

March 15, 1911 - January 29, 2010

Hattie Schoenborn, nee Stegman, age 98. Beloved wife of the late Raymond. Loving mother of JoAnn Thaler, Paul and the late Don Schoenborn. Cherished grandmother of Travis and Sara and great grandmother of Jessica, Logan, Grant and Archer. Born March 15, 1911 in Hayes, KS, Hattie moved to Colorado when she was 2. She Lived in Fort Morgan and Brush, CO. Hattie later came to Chicago when she was in the 9th grade to visit her sister. She attended Alvernia H.S. in Chicago and graduated in 1930. She played Bridge with 8 girlfriends she went to high school with for 40 years. Hattie and Raymond her husband for 50 years, lived at 5429 Sunnyside Avenue, Chicago. They moved to Palatine in 1955. Hattie held several jobs besides being a stay at home mom. She sold Tupperware, worked for Culligan and was a nanny “Babysitter” for many families in Barrington, Inverness and Palatine and did this well into her 70’s. Hattie was very active at St. Theresa Church as well as many other church groups and women’s clubs.

Funeral Information

Visitation Friday, February 5, 2010, from 3:00-8:00pm at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. Funeral Saturday, February 6, 2010, 9:30am from the funeral home to St. Theresa Church for Mass at 10AM. Interment St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.
